SERENGETI Breweries Limited (SBL), one of the largest brewing company and a makers of the popular Premium Serengeti Lager has announced plans to bring in series on new brands to its market this year.
Some of the world-classic brands that will be launched few months to come are Ciroc, Johnnie Walker Platinum, talisker, and vodka syrup.
“Tanzania is tremendously changing…and we are well committed to make sure that we are moving along and be part of that change by bringing in new products that will go along with people’s new life style. We have everything for everyone,” the Marketing Director forSBL, EphrahimMafuru, said today during the thanks giving dinner to the local and international press at Serena Hotel in Dar es Salaam.
Mr. Mafuru commended all the media and Public relations companies in Tanzania for the efforts made in building trust to consumers during the ended financial year.
“You are one of the important ingredients for our growth last year. I have high hopes that our solid partnership is going to prevail,’ he said.
Serengeti Premium Lager is commonly referred to as Chui (Swahili for Leopard) in Tanzania which comes from the black and gold leopard spots on the brand’s label. The leopard and acacia images on the label are symbolic of the Serengeti National Park with which the brand is associated. It is available in 500ml and 330ml brown bottles. Serengeti Premium Lager has an alcoholic content of 4.8 percent. Its slogan is “Good Times Last Longer with Serengeti”.
The company’s flagship brand grew in the market via different activities like Taifa Stars sponsorship and Fiesta. It was the first beer brand to come packaged in a 330ml pack with its logo embossed on the bottle.
It is also the first beer brand in Tanzania to enhance packaging by adding a back label on the bottle. Other brands have since followed suit. The brand was the first beer in its category in Tanzania to be 100 percent Malt based which even today is a huge product attribute for the brand.
